My Approach

Therapeutic Approach

I am a passionate, honest and transparent therapist who wants to achieve the best outcome for my clients. I have trained in dual modalities of CBT and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I often integrate these approaches to tailor my treatment to individual presentations.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy involves an in-depth approach to reveal what is unconscious to the client but still causing tension and symptoms. It relies on the relationship between the client and the therapist and therefore openness, honesty, trust and respect guide the process.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

In CBT the therapist and client work collaboratively to find ways of reacting differently to thoughts and feelings which may be having a negative effect on behaviours and physical health. It is a more structured and usually more brief approach (6-20 sessions) CBT is an evidenced based approach recommended by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) for wide ranging presentations of anxiety and depression as well as OCD (Obsessional Compulsive Disorder) and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Couples Counselling

This is recommended for couples who are having difficulties in their relationship and want the help of a therapist to act as a neutral and objective facilitator. NICE recommends this treatment if individual therapy for either partner has not helped.
